There sits a little girl in the flowering meadow...
We visited for the first time a children's zoo near Kuopio with domestic, native animals of Finland. It was a clear highlight of the week: Antonia was blown away by all those animals. After some short initial reservation, she was soon master of the situation and started to communicate with them and desperately wanted to feed them (not the turkey, she was scared of that one). We surely have to come back here. The weather was beautiful, quite hot for the beginning of June. The was a flowering hawkbit meadow nearby where we took a rest. Speaking of communication: she has expanded her vocabulary by adding "auto" to the existing words "mama" and "schüü" (which means tschüss). She also waves good-by and can point to her body parts when asked where they are. Me, Tanya and Maarit (her kindergarten aunt) are at the moment competing in which language she should recognize those, poor Antonia, sometimes i get confused even myself. I have a feeling she wants to talk already but just does not know in which language. on the other hand, skills which are very well developed are the motoric skills: she LOVES to climb, run, jump, we have a real mountain goat at home. Also the doctor noted that on her 1.5 years check up which we had also this week; the result of this check-up was that everything is normal. We were expecting "everything perfect", but I think that is what the doctor meant (it was a very Finnish, very nice doctor).
