Magical wedding in Tahko in the heart of the Finnish Lakeland area

This is how you fall in love, let go and I’ll hold you up, so pull me tight and close your eyes, oh, my love, side to side

The wedding of Päivi & Mika at the panoramabar in Tahko in Finland was a beautiful example of a small and unique wedding during Corona times

Päivi & Mika had their beautiful wedding last fall at the Panoramabar in Tahko, Finland. The lovely, sweet and also funny couple spread positive energy throughout the day, it was refreshing in a year with so many challenges. I loved getting to know the couple a little better already during their pre-wedding meeting and location spotting. Mika proposed already a year previously, when they were were hiking in Ruka fells (Kuusamo), in between admiring the beautiful nature. The wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and the day couldn’t have turned out better. Päivi & Mika said yes in a beautiful outdoor ceremony after the father of the bride walked her down the aisle while Canon in D - Pachelbel was playing, performed by a violonist and cellist.. As such, the wedding was also held in accordance with the safety measures laid out in Finland at the time. They were also lucky with the weather: it was cold, but later the sun came out, perfect for photos and portraits during the golden hour. The only drawback was that Mika’s kids could not join due to a COVID case at school: but they connected remotely during the reception and exchanged some heartfelt words. The team at the Panoramabar was absolutely gorgeous, and the location is stunning with its view over some of the thousand lakes of Finland. I think it is maybe one of the most beautiful and exceptional wedding venues in Finland. The energy was high throughout the day with the entire wedding party being the perfect mix of hype, laughs and relaxed. For our first dance they had Anna Eriksson: Kun katsoit minuun (a slowdance) and after that a few other songs that were slow and/or waltz where everyone could join. Thereafter, the party started and the superb DJ and saxophonist kept the party pumping until late night with the dance floor packed. The energy was so good, even we hit the dancefloor and stayed after our cameras were packed. The firework for the finals in front of the Panoramabar was a dramatic ending (at least for us) to an epic wedding day! It was particularly difficult to leave this wedding.

Thanks Paivi & Mika for inviting us to your wedding.

I hope you enjoy this gallery as much as we do.

Christina B.

Hi.

My name is Christina. Welcome to my passion and my living dream. Weddings and family occasions to me are the events which most need to be memorialized and saved in pictures. I am a mother, photographer, biologist, and a happy-go-lucky person who loves to travel and has been known to throw caution to the wind. I use my camera and my curiosity to find love, beauty, joy and humor in unexpected places. Every time I meet a new couple so crazy in love they can’t keep their eyes and hands off each other, it makes my stomach flip because I absolutely know how it feels to be that new couple. This is how I know how much it matters to have those moments captured in time. Because no matter how many years pass, when you look back at those pictures, you won’t think about all the imperfections but you will remember the love, sun’s warmth and the song that was playing in the background and the moment will come live
